Nominations are now open for the 2027 NSW Women of the Year Awards. This is an opportunity to recognise women and girls who challenge inequality, innovate, inspire others and make a positive difference in their communities.

The NSW Women of the Year Awards recognise outstanding women and girls from across NSW.
NSW Premier's Woman of Excellence
Recognising an outstanding woman whose achievements and leadership have made an exceptional contribution to NSW.
NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year
Celebrating an Aboriginal woman who has made an outstanding contribution to her community and NSW.
NSW Regional Woman of the Year
Recognising an outstanding woman making a difference in regional and rural communities across NSW.
NSW Community Hero
Celebrating women whose service, volunteering and dedication are strengthening their communities.
NSW Young Woman of the Year
Open to women aged 16–30 who are making an exceptional contribution to their community.
Ones to Watch
Celebrating girls aged 7–15 who are already making a positive impact. Nominations can be made by a parent, guardian or schoolteacher.
Know an outstanding local woman?
The NSW Local Woman of the Year Awards are a separate program from the NSW Women of the Year Awards. They provide Members of Parliament with an opportunity to recognise an outstanding woman from their local electorate.
A separate local recognition
We want to hear about women whose dedication, leadership and service have made a meaningful contribution to our local community.
This could include women making a difference through:
- Volunteering and community service
- Community leadership
- Education
- Health and wellbeing
- Sport
- Arts and culture
- Business
- Advocacy
One Local Woman of the Year will be selected to represent our electorate.

Each year, we have the privilege of recognising an outstanding woman who has made a lasting contribution to our local community.
Krianne Doherty
Krianne volunteers her spare time to keep the community safe at the Schofields Rural Fire Brigade. Her dedication and commitment saw her become the crew's first female senior deputy captain.
Belinda McKinlay
Belinda is a driving force behind Schofields Crusaders JRLC and works tirelessly for Penrith Junior Rugby League. Her passion for community extends far beyond her own club.
Leanne Leach
Leanne is a true community champion, dedicating decades of service to supporting and strengthening the Riverstone community through leadership, mentoring and volunteer work.
